Assistance for immigrants - removing blocks

Assistance for immigrants - removing blocks

The Occupations Registration and Licensing Division provides for the convenience of the immigrant/returning resident assistance in the registration and licensing process in the professions of engineering, architecture and electricity.

The following is a specification of the concessions:

  • Accompaniment by the professional unit in the registration/licensing process.

  • The applications for registration in the Register of Practical Engineers and Technicians shall be sent to the Registrar's Advisory Committee for its reaction; after the applicant's application has been characterized, the applicant shall be required to appear before the Investigative Committee for the purpose of determining his entitlement to registration.

  • Investigative Committee – original documents and a final project (if any) should be submitted. During the course of the Committee's interview, the immigrant shall be required to answer professional questions from the field of his studies.
The interviews at the Investigative Committee are held in the Hebrew or English language (it is possible to attend with an acquaintance who can assist in interpreting into other languages).
  • Recognition of the B.T.S. degree from France – the Authorization Committee regards in principle and in a positive way the recognition of study for the B.T.S. degree from France, and approves registration in the Register of Practical Engineers/Qualified Technicians, subject to an individual examination of every application for registration and the approval of the Professional Committee in every professional branch – as is presently the case.

  • Translation of documents – documents written in a foreign language should be accompanied by an original translation into Hebrew/English signed by a notary; it is possible for the immigrant to submit an application in foreign languages and the Unit will translate the documents for him, but the handling of an application that necessitates translation will take longer. Therefore, it is recommended to shorten proceedings and submit documents together with a translation into the Hebrew or English language, certified by a notary.
