 Registration of practical engineers and qualified technicians

 
 
​The Practical Engineers and Qualified Technicians Law, 5773 – 2012, prescribes mandatory registration in the Register of Practical Engineers and Technicians in reserved activity professions (as defined in the Licensing and Reservation of Activities Regulations, 5727 – 1967) in order to work in the field.

Registration in the Register of Practical Engineers and Technicians is affected by the Registrar of Practical Engineers and Qualified Technicians.

​The registration process and the full conditions for registration of practical engineers and qualified technicians are specified in the Registration in the Register of Practical Engineers and Qualified Technicians Procedure.

Forms, approvals and documents

​​A practical engineer or technician who complies with the eligibility conditions shall submit an online application form for registration of practical engineers and qualified technicians.

It should be emphasized that internet registration is conditional upon the educational institution's confirmation of the applicant's particulars.

A technician/practical engineer who is a graduate of a foreign educational institution may file an application for internet registration but he shall be required to appear before a professional committee on behalf of the Authorization Committee.

Applicants who studied at a foreign educational institution should attach to the diploma a grades sheet and syllabus in the original language together with a notarized translation into Hebrew.

For your convenience, the Ministry of Economy and Industry provides new immigrants with documents translation services. Apply to the hotline to take advantage of this benefit. It should be clarified that the translation services via the Unit are likely to take about 45 working days and prolong the time taken to deal with the application.
 

Time taken to deal with the application

​​The Registrar's decision in the application shall be given within 45 days of the date the application is received at the Unit's offices.

A decision in the matter of an application for registration of a diploma, degree or training from an educational institution in a foreign country shall be given within 60 days of the date of the professional inspector's decision.
