The Israeli Embassy in Singapore hosted a special Iftar dinner last week. Many honorary representatives attended the event between them Imam Habib Hassan al-Attas of the Muslim community, and Rabbi Netanel Rivni of the Jewish community in Singapore.
In her speech H.E. Ambassador Yael Robinstein spoke of the inseparable part of the Arab community in the life of the state of Israel and wished for future peace and harmony, similar to the ones obtained between the communities in Singapore.
The Imam has opened his speech by noting the event as a historical moment. He mentioned the first chief minister of Singapore, the Jewish Mr. David Marshall and the warm support he received from the Malay community in Singapore. The Imam continued and praised the state of Israel for the abundance of mosques in its premises and the governmental support it provides to religious leaders, including Imams.
Rabbi Netanel has concluded with stories from the Jewish Talmud and together with the other speakers wished for future peace and harmony in the Middle East and in the whole wide world.
